To creativity and beyond! From costumes to props, here’s our run down of everything you need to bring some Toy Story magic to your very own back garden. Each of the crafts is simple to put together and will take playtime to infinity and beyond.
Blue Sky wallpaper and toy town
Use a blue sheet to create a backdrop. Paint white clouds with fabric paint and let it dry before hanging up in your desired position. Repurpose cardboard boxes to create the town from Andy’s bedroom. Let kids imagine their own storefronts or re-create the bank and ‘generil store’ as seen in the movie.
Buzz Lightyear’s Spaceship
This Buzz inspired spaceship is so simple to craft. Take a large cardboard box, cut out as per the shape in the picture and get the kids to decorate.
DIY Buzz Costume
Take a large cardboard box, cut out a wing shape and Buzz’s control panel shape as show in the picture. Get the kids to get creative and colour and paint their wings and control panel in whatever style they like. Join the two parts together with some ribbons to create straps and you’ve got a DIY Buzz outfit ready for adventures.
DIY Woody Costume
It wouldn’t be Andy’s bedroom without Woody. To make this outfit, use a yellow t-shirt and ruler to draw red lines vertically and horizontally to create a box pattern. Using black and white felt and fabric glue, make a quick vest and finish the look with the all important sheriff badge.
DIY Bo Peep Costume
Create Bo Beep’s costume by adding pink card or felt spots to a white skirt. Use the reaming card or felt to create a simple bonnet to bring Bo to life.
DIY Rex costume
Take a simple green cap, add some large googly eyes and cut some triangles out of white felt to look like teeth. Hot glue some green felt to the back of the cap for extra details and the Rex is ready to join the party.
